What should your voicemail say?
Say who the caller has reached, that you cannot answer right now and what they should leave in their message. A name, phone number and brief message are usually enough.
For a business, you can mention your opening hours. For a personal voicemail, a short greeting with your name is often enough. Only promise to call back if you will.

Do I also get a voicemail service or phone number?
No. You receive the recorded greeting as an audio file. Your carrier or phone system provides the voicemail service and stores your callers’ messages.
